Before we continue with the research tutorial, Happy New Year everyone!

I hope 2009 was good for you and I hope 2010 will be so much better!

Now onto the second part of your online market research tutorial…

Remember… you won’t get all the information you need at the first attempt.

Search different conotations of your chosen markets name when looking for social, technological, economic and political factors that have an affect on it.

With the example used in the video for the weight loss market, phrases used included…

“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect weight”
“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect health”
“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect weight loss”
“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect fitness”
“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect healthcare”
“[NAME OF FACTOR] factors that affect weight gain”

… and so on. Obviously, [NAME OF FACTOR] was replaced by the factor that was being searched for at the time.

Now go out and conduct your own STEP analysis to complete the next step (sorry for the bad pun) in your own online market research for the benefit of your business.
