At this point, I’d like to talk specifically to those of you that have wasted your money before on the various business guides out there…

You know the guides I’m talking about… the ones that promised you the world and didn’t even deliver you a pile of dirt – (and not good dirt either… unfertile dirt… dirt that meant you couldn’t even grow stuff in it)!

Well, for those of you that this resonates to, I’d like to share something with you…

Here’s the story…

A few years ago, I knew of someone that took it upon himself to go to university and learn all he could about business.

The course he took was geared specifically towards teaching him all he could know about starting your own business and running it successfully.

Throughout this course, every step of the business process was laid out in detail. It seemed like all he needed to do was copy what was taught and start using it in the real world straight away.

SHOCK HORROR! My friend did just this. He went out and immediately started his own business.

Sadly, he chose to spend a great deal of money on various get-rich-quick schemes; (effectively wasting it).

My friend flushed a lot of money down the drain on these so called “guides” and (surprise, surprise) none of them gave him the results that they had promised.

Can you guess what happened next?

That’s right… his business failed faster than it had started – (and that was faster than Superman rushing to the toilet after drinking a whole gallon of moo juice).

Not only that, but he only had himself to blame.

Do you know why? The answer to that question was said best with the words “less haste, more speed”.

Sadly there was more than that one reason for my friend to blame himself for his business’ catastrophic failure. In fact, the reason already given is a pretty poor one by comparison to what I attribute his failure to…

Check this out… my friend failed because he didn’t pay attention to what was taught to him through his three years at university.

You may have got me there. Perhaps the correct answer is that he did and he didn’t.

While he certainly paid attention to the majority of what was taught, the one aspect of his university degree that he surprisingly chose not to pay attention to was…

How did my friend pass his degree in the first place?

• By furthering his education in order to get to grips with what was being taught.

So why is it that he chose to abandon this process when it came to starting his own business? No one knows.

Thankfully, upon realising his fatal mistake, my friend made amends.

I’m the idiot that chose to disregard his knowledge of what got him through his university degree in the first place.

I can’t really give a proper answer here. I guess the only answer I can give is that I finally grew up!

My own procrastination was caused by my own fears. All you’ve got to do is seek out what’s stopping you from getting what you want out of life and STOMP DOWN on that barrier!
